Project/Activity Ideas:

National parks are responsible for covering over 84 million acres of land in 417 separate areas of the United States of America, including the country’s 50 states and five of the sixteen territories (U.S. National Park Service). The existence of these pieces of land are clearly evident to the majority of Americans, yet the reality of the many issues and difficulties that the parks are currently facing seems to remain maddeningly unknown. The current treatment and state of many of our national parks does not reflect the proper care of the world that I feel that we, as human beings, are called to. I believe that this is a problem. I also believe that teachers have an opportunity to make a difference in this field.
